Ohio is now one of 33 states that has made some form of marijuana use legal under state law, even though it is still illegal under federal law.
Ohio has also made some recent changes to its concealed carry laws that limit an employer’s ability to restrict the possession of firearms on company property. How these laws interact is critical for construction industry employers primarily because they often work in safety sensitive environments, and are working on someone else’s property where they do not have complete control over the workplace.
In 30 minutes (or less) attorneys Todd Harpst and Monica Wallace of Harpst Ross & Becker Co. will take you through an outline of Ohio’s new medical marijuana law discussing implications for drug free workplace, whether medical marijuana requires accommodating, and other critical issues for Ohio employers.
We will also discuss some of the new firearm legislation and best practices for regulating the off premises use and possession of otherwise lawful firearms that may be carried by your employees.
